Lola Young has returned to the stage for the first time since stepping away from touring to focus on her mental health, telling fans she “can’t wait” to release new music.
The show took place last night on Wednesday March 4 at the Palladium in London and marked the first headline performance of 2026 from the former NME Cover star.
It was also her first full show since cancelling a tour in 2025 while recovering from exhaustion after collapsing on stage during a performance in New York City. After the incident, Young posted on Instagram to reassure fans that she was “doing OK” after being helped off stage by medical staff, though she later confirmed she would miss her Washington DC appearance at All Things Go the following day.
She had also been scheduled to embark on a UK tour later that autumn but ultimately decided to step away from her commitments for the “foreseeable future” so she could focus on her mental health.
Last night she made her long awaited return with her first headline performance since that break, telling the audience she was “so back” and excited to be performing again.
Her set opened with acoustic versions of ‘Bad Game (3AM)’, ‘Spiders’, ‘Walk All Over You’, ‘Why Do I Feel Better When I Hurt You’, and ‘Sad Sob Story!’. Later in the show a full band joined her on stage for songs including ‘D£aler’, ‘Conceited’ and others.
She closed the night with her breakout hit ‘Messy’, telling the crowd she considers it the “song that’s changed my life”, before adding: “You continue to change mine every day so thank you for that.”

Although this was her first headline concert of the year, Young also performed at the Grammys last month and picked up her first award at the ceremony.
She was also among the most nominated artists at this year’s BRIT Awards where she won Breakthrough Artist. She later appeared at the afterparty alongside Olivia Dean and has also been invited by Elton John to perform at his AIDS Foundation Academy Awards Viewing Party on March 15.
In a message shared with fans that was later posted on Reddit, she expressed gratitude for the major moments in her career and revealed that new music is on the way.
“Six months ago everything was off for me. I knew I needed to deal with some stuff and take time out and with that came huge insecurity about my career,” she wrote. “I was genuinely fearful that I might lose my moment, a moment I’d spent over 10 years grafting for. So this is such a huge moment of affirmation for me.”
“[But] when things get dark and I’m not doing well, knowing that I can still come back is incredibly rewarding. More rewarding than any award will ever be,” she continued. “I love you and can’t wait to put new music out and continue this journey with you in my corner.”
The singer also hinted toward returning to writing music toward the end of 2025 after she was spotted at Lily Allen’s Christmas party in London.
“I am hoping to gradually get back to performing and continuing pursuing my dreams. Happy holidays to you all and can’t wait to see you in 2026,” she wrote online. “Life is a journey, nothing is perfect but today I am doing well. All my love always, Lola.”
