Da Old Me Brings Remo Da Goat Fans Back to His Roots

St. Petersburg, FL–The first thing you hear is an upbeat guitar. It's followed by a light hip-hop beat, with Remo Da Goat repeatedly singing out “Whoa”—the title of the St. Pete rapper and singer’s latest single in support of his album Goat Shit Part 3: Da Old Me.

“Whoa” diverts from the hip-hop style Remo Da Goat is known for: freestyling. Yet, Remo describes Da Old Me as just that—returning to his roots, with a balance between singing and the freestyle rapping he honed after listening to his cousin rap as a kid.

“I just took that and ran with it and kept working on my craft and my art and became great at it,” says Remo Da Goat.

With “Whoa,” Remo conveyed the moment he saw a beautiful woman into the track's sound—the fluttering music-in-your-head and birds singing evoked in those moments. Remo kept the sound lighthearted, using a beat sent by Atlanta producer Smurf On Da Track. When creating his tracks, Remo typically takes from his life experiences or re-tells others’ stories, explaining the first two parts of his Goat Shit series represent his versatility with a mainstream sound, while Da Old Me is showing his fans what he’s still got.

Da Old Me is based on me freestyling and me going back to my natural roots. Back in the day when people pulled up on me, they used to like to hear me freestyle. People would actually give me money to hear me rap,” says Remo Da Goat. “That's basically what I'm doing. I'm just going back to the old me, making catchy hooks off my brain, and rapping from the heart.”

The record includes over 20 tracks, 3 of those to be released as singles, and the final track of the record, “Fly Away,” featuring singer T-Rell. One of those upcoming singles “I Don’t Need A Beat” opens the album, letting listeners know he’s giving them his all “a capella” style with a trap beat. The rest of Da Old Me is a balance between Remo singing and rapping, but each song with full-fledged confidence in his sound.
