French DJ HUGEL is making a strong push for the Number 1 position on the UK Official Singles Chart with "Movin’ To The Sun", putting him in competition with Sam Fender and Olivia Dean, according to the latest Official Chart First Look update.

The track is currently sitting at Number 2 based on early sales and streaming figures, with the summer hit hoping to knock "Rein Me In" from the top after the song spent nine weeks in a row at Number 1.

Elsewhere, Irish rock band Fontaines D.C. are heading towards their highest ever position on the UK singles chart with "Marianne". The song is currently at Number 15 after the group revealed details of their fifth studio album, Dopamine Chamber, which is due to arrive in October 2026. If it holds its position, the track would become their second Top 40 single following 2025's "It’s Amazing To Be Young."

A little further down the chart, a special 7 inch vinyl edition has helped "These Alarms", the Snow Patrol and Kylie Minogue collaboration, climb to Number 21 and puts it in line for a possible Top 40 debut. Calvin Harris's "Satisfy" featuring Jazzy has jumped 40 places to Number 18 and is currently aiming for its first appearance on the main chart, while Sonny Fodera and Becky Hill's "Say Something" is sitting at Number 38.

A number of other songs are also heading towards new career bests in the Top 10. Stella Lefty’s "Boston" remains at Number 3, while Sienna Spiro has two songs among the leading positions, with "Great Expectation" at Number 6 and "Die On This Hill" arriving at Number 10. Sheffield producer Silva Bumpa has moved up to Number 8 with "On 2nite", while Malcolm Todd’s "Earrings" is currently at Number 13 and Alyssa Grace’s "bloodstream" sits at Number 16.

The complete Official Singles Chart Top 100 will be announced on Friday.
