Rap that can hold a note. Faith-driven artist shares only love with Only God

Atlanta – Nikell Ariel said she’s always had “something in her” to share with the world.

Nothing could diminish it – not the pain of losing her parents, or sexual abuse as a youth. Her faith only grew with every sermon, every worship song and every voice in her church’s congregation – and now she’s got her own words to share to help lead others to the light.

This year the Atlanta born and raised singer/songwriter plans to release an EP that will include her latest single “Only God.” Her style falls into R&B and Rap, which she describes as “rap that can hold a note.” While the song “Only God” maintains encouraging numbers on digital platforms, the lyrics encompass Nikell’s mantra of not passing judgment on anyone, meeting people where they’re at and showing love when it’s needed most.

“It was a rough time – I was just a kid,” Nikell said of losing her parents to AIDS within a year’s time. “Writing was a way I could release it, and I never strayed from it. My aunt took us to church and I listened. I took it in. And even as a kid, I could rationalize that others are going through worse things than me. My faith is who I am. If it wasn’t for me having a relationship with God at a young age, I don’t think I would have made it out the same way.”

Nikell has been on the music scene for a few years with the ultimate goal of spreading the word of God.

“I’d rather a million souls be saved than me making a million dollars,” Nikell said. “But I am happy with the reaction we’re getting from ‘Only God.’ This is just the beginning.”

Nikell fans rave of her sultry delivery and sweet melodies, and describe her unique style as something real and genuine – because her voice has evolved into a powerful instrument she’s grown more confident in sharing. But don’t just listen to her music …

“The ‘Only God’ music video was something special we worked hard on, we prayed over it – visuals are important,” Nikell said. “My voice and style has evolved over time, my writing is better, and I’m getting into making my voice sound a certain way. But my music is more than just my voice alone – it’s my personality and believing in loving people. I respect God’s timing, and I don’t try to push my beliefs on people – No judgment – because we all go through struggles.”

The EP worth waiting for this year will be a mixture of worship songs plus the “Only God” track that has attracted new listeners to Nikell’s positivity. It’s a great musical experience for kids, too, as you’ll find not one swear word in this rapper’s lyrics.
