Kanye West Sets New Shows in San Antonio & Chicago

Yeezy's making his return to Chicago.

Kanye West’s resilience is one of the defining traits often pointed to when discussing his career. From the beginning, he faced significant rejection before breaking through, and that same persistence has carried into the current phase of his career as he works to rebuild his public image after years marked by controversy and self-inflicted setbacks. His recent efforts to return to touring have faced pushback from politicians and religious groups, particularly in cities like Tampa, where there have been attempts to get his scheduled shows cancelled.

Even with that resistance, Ye does not appear to be slowing down his plans to perform in the United States. He recently revealed two new stops: a July 4 show in San Antonio and a pair of back-to-back performances in Chicago on September 3 and 4. The San Antonio concert is set for the Alamodome, while the Chicago dates will take place at Soldier Field.

Given his fanbase, demand for tickets is expected to be extremely high. Even with ongoing calls for boycotts and cancellations, interest in his Tampa show was strong enough that a second date had to be added. Because of that, it would not be surprising if the San Antonio and Chicago shows sell out quickly, potentially leading to additional dates being announced.

Kanye West Readies Bully Deluxe

At the same time, Ye continues to promote his latest album Bully, and has also confirmed a deluxe edition arriving on June 19. Ahead of that release, he marked his 49th birthday by dropping “Gemini Season,” which is expected to appear on the deluxe version. More updates regarding Ye’s tour plans and music rollout are expected in the coming weeks.
