Pitbull’s BST Hyde Park concert to try and break bald cap world record

BST Hyde Park has revealed plans to try and set a Guinness World Record for the largest number of people wearing bald caps during Pitbull’s show in London this summer.

The artist and producer, widely known as Mr Worldwide, is among the headliners for the 2026 edition of the annual London concert series and will perform on Friday July 10.

The concert was first announced in October, when organisers also confirmed that Kesha would appear as a special guest. Additional names are expected to be added to the line up in the coming weeks.

Now, the team behind American Express presents BST Hyde Park have confirmed that the evening will include an official Guinness World Records attempt, aiming to secure the title for the Largest gathering of people wearing bald caps.

The idea reportedly began when Radio 1 Breakfast presenter Greg James mentioned it on air. Pitbull later contacted him to say he was keen to make it happen. The move follows a viral trend at Pitbull’s concerts over the past year, where fans who call themselves The Bald E’s have attended shows dressed in bald caps, sunglasses and leather jackets in tribute to his signature look.

“Guinness Book of World Records, get ready for all the Bald-E’s that’ll be putting it down on July 10 at Hyde Park,” Pitbull said in a statement.

“Every time you put on that bald cap, you know you’re about to have the time of your lives. We appreciate the love, the commitment, and the support. More than anything, we just want to say thank you.”

One of the largest displays of bald caps took place during Pitbull’s sold out nights at The O2 in London last year. Clips of the crowd quickly spread online, encouraging fans at later tour stops to follow suit.

Those concerts were part of the European leg of his ‘Party After Dark Tour’, where he was joined by Lil Jon. While performing at The O2, Pitbull addressed the audience and expressed his appreciation for their outfits.

“Now I wanna say a special thank you to everybody who came out with bald caps here tonight,” he said at the time. “It’s amazing to see, and it’s amazing to feel.”

For the record attempt to be officially recognised, Guinness guidelines state that “all participants must wear bald caps secured firmly on the head, with hair tucked under at the front and top hair may hang from the back,” and that “all participants must be gathered together and in position simultaneously and remain so for a minimum of one minute.”

“We’re so excited to host a Mr world wide record attempt at Pitbull’s show in BST Hyde Park, the highest number of people wearing baldcaps,” said Darcey Jackson, Director of Talent at AEG Presents European Festivals. “We’ve broken a few world records in the past but this will really truly be the time of our lives. We cannot wait to welcome you all to Hyde Park for what will inevitably be an incredible show. Come one, come all, come bald.”

Will Munford, an adjudicator at Guinness World Records, added: “We look forward to adjudicating this record at BST Hyde Park with Pitbull. What better way to be part of something amazing than coming together with other fans to celebrate your favourite artist. Best of luck to all of those taking part on the day!”

When Pitbull was first confirmed for BST Hyde Park, he was also announced for the new Roundhay Festival in Leeds. Both events will also feature Lewis Capaldi next summer as part of his UK and Ireland headline tour.

Other headliners for BST Hyde Park include Garth Brooks on June 27, Maroon 5 on July 3, and Mumford and Sons on July 4. Further announcements are expected soon. Tickets for Pitbull’s show are available here.
