Pop Star Sabrina Carpenter Creates a Pringles-Made Man in Big Game Ad

It was my first time acting alongside someone made out of Pringles.

Sabrina Carpenter appears in a bizarre and playful Pringles commercial that debuted during the Super Bowl, which you can watch below.

The advert follows the pop star as she constructs a so called perfect man named Pringleleo entirely from potato crisps after declaring she is “so tired of boys”. Carpenter and Pringleleo are shown heading out to dinner, flying a kite and being caught on a kisscam at a sporting event, before he is swarmed by excited fans outside one of her shows.

A condensed 30 second cut of the commercial aired during NBC’s broadcast of Super Bowl LX on Sunday night February 8, while a longer version can be viewed below.

The advert was helmed by directors Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia, who previously worked with Carpenter on the video for her song ‘Manchild’ last year.

Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Carpenter said “Filming with a man made of Pringles was definitely a first for me. I trust directors Vania Heymann and Gal Muggia. We shot the ‘Manchild’ video together. They are incredibly creative, and working with them alongside the Pringles brand team helped us make something that felt completely unhinged and genuinely funny in the best possible way.”

She continued “When I take on a commercial like this, it matters to me that the idea feels true to who I am and what my brand represents. I wanted my sense of humor to come through and to make something that felt a little unexpected for a major snack brand.”

Carpenter was also asked if she could see herself returning to the Super Bowl stage one day as a halftime headliner. “Maybe one day!” she said. “I gotta write a few more albums first.”

Last week, Carpenter performed ‘Manchild’ live at the Grammys. Set against an airport themed backdrop, she appeared dressed as a pilot and moved along luggage conveyor belts while waving traffic wands. She received six nominations at the ceremony but did not take home any awards.

Earlier this week, Carpenter also led the revival of The Muppet Show, performing ‘Manchild’ alongside a chorus of muppet chickens and sharing duets with Kermit and Miss Piggy on ‘Islands In The Stream’.

Bad Bunny headlined the Super Bowl halftime show, while Green Day delivered a non political medley during the opening ceremony, a choice that left some viewers underwhelmed.
