MIAMI – Just last year, there were so many unknowns to Smailo-One’s risky plan to uproot himself from his home in northern Africa to come to the states, but his aspirations to pursue his music career outnumbered all those fears.

Born Ismail Mouline of Morocco, Africa, Smailo-One says it’s taken him four years to get this moment – the first song release of his 12-track album “My Universe” – and his desire for success is ravenous.

“I had to do this – and I was going to do whatever it takes – to share my ideas with the world,” Smailo-One said. “Do you know why people don’t follow their dreams? Why they don’t risk everything? They’re afraid. I knew what I wanted, and I knew I would regret it later in life if I didn’t risk it all … I placed all my faith in God. I put myself out there and God has always taken care of me.”

One one-way flight to Miami, Florida, please.

At the age of 21, Smailo-One wields fierce natural music abilities both vocally and instrumentally. He’s always crafting his art in singing, guitar, piano and writing his own lyrics. His first song, “Dance With Me,” gives listeners a great feel for his favorite sounds that fuse 80s and modern Pop. It’s a universal sound that’s easy to listen to with relatable lyrics about love and keeping romance vibrant … It’s already hit 40K views on YouTube.

“I’m going to release approximately a song a month this year – completing my first album next spring,” Smailo-One said. “What’s coming is much better than this. Every song has its own meaning and own dimension … There are many sounds but few fest in your heart. I mix the best sounds – from the 80s and new music of today – that’s the best sound to me.”

“My Universe” will be an album to anticipate this year, featuring a full array of emotion and original harmonies that will help unite the world. One track in particular will be for Smailo-One’s homeland of Morocco, and he says down the road he’s open to the possibility of releasing music in his native language of Arabic.

“I have listeners all over the world,” he said. “My goal is to have more. I little bit happy right now, but I have goals to be successful. I want people who hear me to know that if they have a dream, to not give up – to do better – and do what you must to do what you want with your life.”
