NEW YORK CITY – With digital music platform numbers on a steady rise, Emily Ryan is sitting pretty in the Big Apple with the voice, the attitude and the unique range that defines her as one-of-a-kind.

Her debut album “Emily’s Party” continues to climb the charts with 12 distinct tracks that are full of motivation, sass and winning attitude. It’s a playlist for any occasion including easy listening tunes in the realm of Rock and Blues – delivered “on a Pop palette,” as Ryan says.

“I want people to feel comfortable and relate to this album,” Ryan said. “I wanted a little something for everybody and I wanted to show range. That’s what makes albums more enjoyable. I’m not a bubble gum Pop artist – that’s not who I am – I wanted it to lean Rock with a little 80s influence. There are so many directions to go in Pop, which is a great thing – it gives ya more guns to play with – but this debut sets the tone for the type of music I want to do.”

The cover song of the album, “Emily’s Party” falls in line with “Be Mad” – two of the best performing songs on the album and expressions of Ryan’s main message to listeners: It’s OK to pursue your dreams … even if it upsets people.

“I don’t feel like people hear that enough,” Ryan said. “I want to always send out the message to be who you want to be, and do what makes you happy. The best music has simple lyrics with messages that are clear and powerful – no matter what genre. The second we wrote ‘Be Mad’ I immediately loved it. I knew it was going to be my favorite track. I adore everything about it.”

But just when listeners think they got a handle on Ryan’s sound, they discover she’s got a whole other gear. Producer Lional Chance enhances the album with mad skills on the guitar and piano – and Ryan’s range comes shining through.

“We had a ball creating this album,” she said, “especially the less-talked about tracks like ‘Groupie’ – that’s just a pure fun record – and ‘Psychopath’ was a guilty pleasure. You can throw this album on at a party – you can scream it in the car – some of it is serious but there’s also just random fun.”

“Emily’s Party” reflects the artist’s past 10 amazing years in New York City. The Michigan native always had a heart for music and an insatiable desire to be a part of the big, fast-paced environment. She came for everything the city had to offer – education, music career … even love. And she got it all.

After she obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in communication, law and entertainment from Pace University in New York City, Ryan met Sean Steinbugler.

“It was a serendipitous thing,” Ryan said. “Neither of us were supposed to be there on that night but we were. It was love at first sight. It worked out … I am thrilled with where we are now – I’m surrounded by talented and supportive people. I’d be lost without my manager Amber McDonnell. I’m so grateful.

“I hope the overarching message people hear in my music is: You can do, be, achieve – even if people tell you it’s crazy,” Ryan said. “It’s important and people aren’t told that enough. Please use my album as a happy, safe space of release. If you’re upset, if you’re getting ready with your girls, if you’re in the car … My goal is to be one of those go-to artists to bring you out of a funk, and help you enjoy something.”
