Broken Lizard interrupted Limp Bizkit’s performance at the Summer of ’99 And Beyond Festival to deliver a staged “noise complaint”.
The comedy group walked onto the stage dressed as their Super Troopers characters during the weekend event. Fred Durst and his fellow nu metal stars were headlining the first night of Creed’s festival in Tinley Park, Illinois.
Near the end of the concert, members of Broken Lizard arrived wearing Vermont state trooper uniforms and acted as though they were stopping the performance because of excessive noise.
Some audience members did not immediately understand that the interruption was planned. One member of the troupe, which is currently promoting Super Troopers 3, shouted: “Shut up, all you chicken-fs. With these lights on, I can see all you chicken-fs there.
“You’re a chicken-f*****, you’re a chicken-f*****. All of you up there are chicken-f*****s.”
The comedians eventually dropped the pretend complaint and remained onstage while Limp Bizkit finished the concert with Break Stuff.
Creed closed the festival’s second night on Sunday, 19 July 2026, while fellow throwback acts Hoobastank, Puddle of Mudd and Cypress Hill also appeared on the lineup.
Last month, Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland said the group is “the biggest we’ve ever been right now” following its first headline appearance at Download Festival.
Alongside their recent live achievements, Limp Bizkit have also experienced renewed attention across the internet.
Speaking to Gear4musicguitars, Wes said: “We’re the biggest we’ve ever been right now [as well]. It’s crazy.
“And I’m not saying that in a cocky way. I’m saying that, like, we can’t believe it.
“It’s just been — we’re so lucky. I don’t know exactly how it happened, but I think people… We just get along so well now, and everybody, we’re adults, and we’re still having fun doing it, and I think that translates to the audience.”
Wes also explained that the group’s workload currently feels heavier than at any previous point.
He added: “I don’t know whether it’s TikTok or nostalgia or what it is, but we’ve been busy, busy, busy.”
The band’s streaming figures also increased after bassist Sam Rivers died, although Wes admitted that discussing the loss remains extremely difficult for him.
He told Consequence: “He was like family. I’m gonna try not to cry. It’s just like we lost a piece of our DNA…
“It’s too hard to talk about right now in depth... He can’t ever be replaced. We’re so lucky for Richie [Buxton]… he’s such a great player, and he’s just a wonderful guy, and we’re gonna hold onto him for as long as we can.”
