Raye has joked that her former boyfriend will “never forget” her after a blue plaque was placed outside his favourite pub.
The singer songwriter is marking a new moment in her career after receiving the honour. Blue plaques appear across the UK and are usually placed on buildings to recognise notable people or important moments connected to a specific location.
In a TikTok video shared on Sunday, Raye stood outside The Nightingale pub on Nightingale Lane in South London, posing beside the blue plaque that reads, "RAYE experienced the greatest heartbreak she has ever known here. 27th February 2019."
The video shows the 28 year old singer grinning and laughing while holding a pint, pointing proudly at the plaque beside her.
Writing alongside the clip, Raye joked, "Put a nice plaque on my ex's fav pub so he'll never forget."
She also joked that she is currently in her “dramatic era” and used a snippet of her recent single Nightingale Lane, the emotional track she released last month, as the soundtrack to the video.
Raye has previously shared that Nightingale Lane, which appears on her latest album This Music May Contain Hope, is inspired both by the neighbourhood where she grew up and by the heartbreak she experienced there.
During an interview with British Vogue last year, the singer admitted that the breakup still lingers with her emotionally.
She explained, "My last devastating break-up was four, five years ago. I was like, 'I'm gonna marry him.' We was together for two years and it ended up not working out. I have never experienced a more crippling emotion."
Raye has never publicly disclosed the identity of the former partner involved in the breakup.
