Bring Me The Horizon have locked in another high profile collaboration, with the Sheffield band confirmed as guests on ILLENIUM’s forthcoming album Odyssey.
The US producer is set to drop the 19 track record on February 6, marking his first full length release since his 2023 self titled album. As expected, the project brings together a wide range of artists from across pop, rock and electronic scenes, including Tom Grennan, Ellie Goulding, Bastille, Kid Cudi and others.
Bring Me The Horizon appear on a track titled Slave To The Rithm, a collaboration that has already sparked excitement among fans curious to hear how ILLENIUM’s emotional bass driven style will merge with the band’s huge alt metal sound.
The pairing fits neatly into ILLENIUM’s track record of genre crossing partnerships, having previously worked with Spiritbox on Shivering, Tom DeLonge on Paper Thin, and Avril Lavigne on Eyes Wide Shut.
Elsewhere, Oli Sykes and his bandmates recently teased another collaboration, this time linked to the videogame Ghost Of Yotei, sharing a preview that appears to rework their 2015 song Throne in a more cinematic style. No official release information has been announced so far.
The Kool Aid frontman has also previously spoken about the possibility of a Director’s Cut version of the band’s most recent album Post Human: Nex Gen, revealing that there are around 12 unreleased tracks currently sitting unheard. However, he acknowledged that momentum slowed after the birth of his twins in July, whom he shares with his wife Alissic.
Speaking to NME, Sykes said: “There’s so much from the Nex Gen archive that I want people to hear. I literally rang my label and management and said, ‘It’s almost ready, I’ve got 12 songs and they’re all bangers.
“They’re nearly there. We were going to get the first single out before Rock Am Ring and the second before Reading and Leeds.
“The music will happen, but it’s just not everything anymore.
“We’re realising that we don’t have to rush out another record. We only just released one. Most bands would disappear for a couple of years and actually take a break. You don’t have to do that, but I want to, and I enjoy it. If it happens, great. If it doesn’t, that’s fine too.”
