Letter From Taylor Swift To Liam Payne Heads To Auction

A handwritten message Taylor Swift sent to Liam Payne eight years ago is now set to be auctioned.

When Payne was beginning his solo career after his time in One Direction, Swift offered her support ahead of their individual performances at that year’s Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball.

“Liam, Long time no see!” Swift wrote in her signature loopy script.

“I am so excited for you, you are crushing it out there. I am obsessed with Bedroom Floor. It is so cool to see you from afar, I am always cheering you on. Good luck tonight! Taylor.”

According to Omega Auctions and as reported by Billboard, the 2017 note will be included in the upcoming Music Memorabilia sale. The auction house’s website lists the item with an estimated value of £5,000 to £10,000 ($6,500 to $13,000).

The note is accompanied by its original envelope and the custom wax seal marked with a “T”.

Omega states that it was obtained from a “close associate” of Payne’s, someone he reportedly gifted the card to shortly after receiving it from Swift.

“Expecting serious interest in this. An original handwritten note from Taylor Swift to Liam Payne, December 2017. Offered in our Showcase sale of music memorabilia, 2nd December,” Omega shared on its social media pages.

The auction takes place following the one year anniversary of the British singer’s death. In October 2024, Payne passed away at the age of thirty one after falling from the fourth-floor balcony of his hotel room in Argentina.
