The investigation into the mysterious death of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas is still moving forward.
The teen vanished in Lake Elsinore in 2024, and last month, her remains were discovered inside an impounded Tesla registered to D4vd. Since then, the case has raised many questions surrounding her cause of death, her possible connection to the artist, and what may have happened in the days leading up to her disappearance.
At this point, most of those questions remain unanswered. However, the Los Angeles Police Department has obtained surveillance footage that may play a key role in the investigation. TMZ reports that the footage was taken from several security cameras at a Hollywood Hills property that D4vd had been renting until recently. The homeowner, Malden Trifunovic, told the outlet the exterior cameras should show anyone entering or leaving the home.
Trifunovic also shared that he never viewed the recordings himself, as he didn’t have access to the footage due to renter privacy rules. Because of that, he can’t say if Celeste Rivas was ever present at the house.
D4vd Update
The news about the seized footage follows an earlier development in which Trifunovic confirmed that he had hired a private investigator to dig deeper into the case. “Our private investigator’s work is still ongoing, and I don’t have any findings to share at this time,” he said. “It’s still early in the process, and I want to respect both the LAPD’s investigation and the memory of the victim.”
For now, the police have kept details about the investigation private. When asked about the involvement of the private investigator, they responded, “This is an ongoing investigation. Once additional information is available to share with the public it will be released by Media Relations Division. If anyone has any information about this investigation, they are urged to contact Robbery-Homicide Division or LA Crime Stoppers.”
As of now, D4vd has not been identified as a suspect in the case.
