Lana Del Rey has once again updated the title of her upcoming country album.
In a new interview with W Magazine published on Tuesday, the singer confirmed that her tenth studio project is scheduled for release at the end of January 2026.
The record was first called Lasso and later retitled The Right Person Will Stay, but Lana has now decided to rename it Stove.
Talking about working alongside producers Luke Laird and Jack Antonoff in Nashville, Tennessee, over the past two years, the Video Games star explained that she postponed the release so she could add six more tracks.
“They turned out to be more personal than I expected, and that required more time,” she shared. “Most of the album will lean into a country sound. Eight years ago, when I wanted to make a country record, nobody else was interested in the genre. Now everyone is going country! I even asked myself, ‘Should I retire all my snakeskin boots? Should I pack away my cowboy hats?”
Lana, whose real name is Elizabeth Grant, added that she once considered putting out an album titled Country and Western. That project would have featured her interpretations of songs tied to California, such as Joni Mitchell’s iconic 1971 track, as well as country standards, including Waylon Jennings’s 1977 hit "Luckenbach, Texas (Back to the Basics of Love)".
“The storytelling element exists in both styles,” the 40-year-old explained. “And I’ve always been drawn to creating worlds, which is something I especially love about country music.”
During the conversation, Lana also revealed that she wrote the track Stars Fell on Alabama for her husband, Jeremy Dufrene, whom she married in September 2024.
The couple first crossed paths in 2019, when the Summertime Sadness singer joined one of his boat tours in Des Allemands, Louisiana.
“Jeremy is the most important person in my life. He’s reserved when he’s around others, but with me he talks endlessly,” she said. “It’s funny because we have what we call ‘parking-lot time.’ We’ll spend hours in parking lots just reading or talking in the car. Sometimes you think you’re the only one in the world who enjoys something unusual, like sitting in an empty Macy’s or Home Depot parking lot. People might think it’s odd, but then you find someone who shares that exact joy.”
