Jaime Williams' latest offering as Jaimeson proves him as solid in the studio as he is on the club scene pulling this addictive mix out of the garage and onto the national charts January 26, hopefully in a top ten position which is what it deserves.
As a follow up to previous singles True and Complete, Jaimeson is quickly proving why he's gaining his reputation for innovation, smarts and serious dancefloor fun.
With seductive female vocals from old friend Angel Blu and new find CK, Jaimeson has made Take Control into a playful single that smacks of sexy club frolic, grooving in bikinis and sipping Mojitos in Sarf London. If this was released a little later in the year it could easily become a major summer anthem for 2004 with its catchy Latino rhythm underlined by a nice lazy bassline.
We talked to Jaimeson last week as he was fine tuning the final the tracks of his debut album Think On Your Feet which comes out 9 Feb and will include all three singles so far.
"It's a Hip-hoppy kinda thing that exercises some of my demons but is pure fun and energy the whole way thru," says Jamie, kicking back in his home studio. "There's a point to all the songs but not in a cheesy way."
London-born Jaimeson has crammed thirteen years of UK underground savvy into the type of album this scene has been missing for a long time. It's fresh and smart without being preachy or overworked. No cheap tricks or shortcuts, Jamieson's latest offering shows his respect for the dance scene without taking himself too seriously. This record is pure clever-crafted dance fun.
