It’s safe to say that multi-faceted hip hop artist PRZNT has found his niche.

The Cuban-American, who debuted in 2018, has since released more than a dozen singles that have topped a million streams––including hits like “Laudy Daudy,” which has been played more than 16 million times on its own. Overall, the singer, songwriter and producer has amassed more than 100 million streams across all platforms since his breakout.

“It’s a blessing to have found that fanbase early on in a career because usually it takes a long time,” PRZNT says.

The artist has carved out his own space in a crowded music industry with his unique style, which borders on lo-fi trap music and is based on melancholic and “super chill” vibes. And PRZNT also incorporates Latin style guitar and Latin style trap music in a nod to his own heritage. It’s all on display in his new project Night of the Rose, which is his first full length album and features eleven tracks.

“It felt like the right time to do it,” he says. “I finally was able to put together a collection of everything I’ve ever wanted to put out. It felt so good together as a group of songs that I was like maybe this is the time to just let the world hear a collection of exactly what I want them to hear from me.”

“I just want people to enjoy it and have a great time,” he says. “It’s for people to take it in and have an experience with their friends and family and by themselves. It’ll get you out of a slump mentally. It’s really for people to be able to use in their life as a sort of medicine or a drug in a sense to be able to have fun with it. It’s more of a journey I want people to gain than a specific message.”

PRZNT opens the album with “Saint,” which features the aforementioned Latin guitar picking front and center, as well as producer and instrumentalist Adrian Chafer.

I’m not a saint, and I won’t change myself for you

“A lot of people want us to be a certain way but we can’t always please them because then we’re just going to lose ourselves,” PRZNT says.

He wrote the song on the same night as the events that inspired it, and it’s one of the few songs to his credit where he’s written the lyrics before actually creating the production.

“Like Pablo” follows as the album’s second track, and it’s PRZNT’s personal favorite. It’s a nod to Narco storytelling, but the subject is a ride-or-die woman. .

“The melodies, the beat, the instruments, the production of it, even the mixing of it was just a fun experience,” PRZNT says. “That’s why it’s my favorite. The melody of the hook is my favorite one I wrote.”

The album’s single, and finale, “Or Nah,” is fast becoming another hit, as well. It’s already garnered more than 300,000 plays across multiple platforms in the few weeks since the project was released. The song is a perfect sendoff after the journey PRZNT takes listeners on with Night of the Rose.

“We just wanted to do something fresh and cool that you don’t have to think too much when you’re listening,” he says. “Just go with the flow with the melodies. You’re super in a trance when you’re listening to that song.”

PRZNT was influenced by artists like Lil Wayne, Michael Jackson and Kid Cudi after moving to the United States. Eventually he downloaded Adobe Audition and used that software to create his first two or three big hits. He released his debut EP “Stay For The View” in 2018.
