SXSW Pop: Who are your biggest musical influences?
Kayleigh Walker:
My Biggest musical influences are anything from 60s,70s movies sound tracks to 80s Glam rock . live music /street performances and also of course my imagination.

SXSW Pop: When/How did you become interested in music?
Kayleigh Walker:
Since a young age I remember singing Simply Red in the car when I was a young kid and used to always be a performer and put on shows for my family but fin my late 20s I got move into songwriting and really finding my style.

SXSW Pop: How does this song "Psychedelic" differ with your previous song?
Kayleigh Walker:
This song is very different to my other songs this song was written in a time when I was reflecting on life and discovering my style and finding myself so its a opening to being more creative and being bolder with my music now which makes it different.

SXSW Pop: What skills/personal attributes are most important to being successful?
Kayleigh Walker:
It’s not so much a skill its about going with the process from Highs to lows I’ve had my fair share of empty promises in the past so the key skill is if your passionate about what you do don’t give up and enjoy the process success is not giving up in my opinion.

SXSW Pop: How important do you think video is to your music?
Kayleigh Walker:
I believe its very important it gives people a vision of what you portray the song to be about its like a piece of Art work you look at the move you look the move you discover the image and storey behind it.

SXSW Pop: What did you hope to achieve with your music video?
Kayleigh Walker:
To bring back nostalgia and to have a 60s / space vibe to be diiferent to other music videos that are out there today.

SXSW Pop: How would you describe your new video to any potential new fan?
Kayleigh Walker:
Its fun quirky and elegant with a element of the type of person I am and being s storey teller.

SXSW Pop: What set your music apart? What is unique, or at least uncommon?
Kayleigh Walker:
Not following musical trends an dbeing a store teller makes me unique in my sound and videos.

SXSW Pop: Has your music career journey had a deliberately direction or did it simply gradually evolve in whatever direction it found?
Kayleigh Walker:
I was always pigeon holder into being purely pop despite in the past creating and writing pop songs I felt I was holding back and wasn’t being true to myself so id say I had to learn that I was ok to be be and not change for anyone but to be only true to myself so it was a lesson I learnt quickly which im grateful for.
