A blend of well curated musicians, passion and an ear for the best, Sensaround is soon to be your favorite new Pop Rock band. Composed of lead vocalist and co-writer Bob Dougherty, engineer, co-writer and drummer Alex Track, guitarist Nate Gignac, and bassist Maxwell Pierce, the band is filled with allstar talent. With a group like this, it is no wonder they were able to put together a collection of incredible tracks, including their most recent release, “Valley of Grey”.
As a group, Sensaround was originally created as the collaboration of Dougherty and Track, who had met while Dougherty had been performing within the Vacation industry. Track, already an accomplished musician and producer, took interest in Dougherty’s music and persona, and invited him to connect if the two were ever in the same area.
A few years later, Dougherty relocated to LA and reached out to Track. Since then, they have been working on a collection of projects together, including Sensaround. Now the duo and the rest of their team are hard at work creating more and more incredible music.
A step away from their regular message of love and romance, “Valley of Grey” is a song that explores the feelings of love for someone you consider a guardian angel. “This is the 23rd song Alex and I have written together,” Dougherty explained. “And I wanted this one to be about my grandfather, who for much of my life was my closest friend.”
Exploring both the grief of losing someone you are so close to and the beauty of a life well lived, this song is about more than just Dougherty’s own experience. “I didn’t want this song to sound too specific. It can be about anyone you consider to be a guardian angel,” he said.
“Valley of Grey” tells the story of mortality and the respect and appreciation that we can show for it. Not only does the song provide an excellent example of what this collection of trained and passionate musicians are capable of, but also shares a glimpse of who these musicians, Dougherty especially, truly are.
With “Valley of Grey” out and a collection of shows lined up in LA, Sensaround is excited for what is to come. “We’ve got a lot of really great new gear that is going to let us be in control of the mixing at our shows,” Dougherty explained. “I think it’s going to bring a lot of value to our performances.”
Between upcoming performances at Universal Bar and Grill on September 7, a following gig at The Mint on the 22nd, and many more to come, Sensaround is not a group you are going to want to miss out on.
