Bat Lanyard is an exciting new duo that blends Electronic Soft Rock with a Dreamy Alt Pop sound. The longstanding duo, Nick Davis and Matt Thompson, met as two young musicians in college, and have since been cultivating incredible art together. Now under the name of Bat Lanyard, Nick and Matt are looking forward to sharing an album that has been almost ten years in the making.

Bat Lanyard, the self titled album features ten songs that take you on a journey through the lives of Matt and Nick. With songs that have been designed to fit together, it flows effortlessly from beginning to end. “We’ve been working on this album for almost ten years,” Matt explained. “Songs would come and go, and as our production value increased, we would go back in and revamp tracks as needed.”

With the duo working tirelessly on the album, things finally started to fall into place. “We found ten songs that we loved and started putting them together, ironing out the details,” Nick said. “It finally just felt like it was time to put the whole thing out there.”

With ten songs on the album, it can be hard to pick just one favorite. “We love how this project tells a story,” Nick said. “Trying to pick just one is like trying to decide on a favorite child.” With this in mind, Bat Lanyard wants their audience to focus on a few really important songs on this album.

“Burned Out Lovers” is the album’s single, and an incredible track to get an idea of who Bat Lanyard really is. Following directly after it, is “Pantry Park”, the true star of the album’s upcoming vinyl release. “We are really proud of how this one turned out,” Nick explained. “There is just something about how it came out on the vinyl that really makes it special.” Even listening to it on your favorite streaming platform, you can tell that this song is destined to be a classic.

The last song you will want to keep a special eye out for also follows the storyline of the album, coming right after “Pantry Park”. “Yellow Paper” is the summer jam of the album, with an easy driving into the sunset feel to it. “I love a good driving song,” Matt said. “This song just feels like the song to listen to while flying down the highway in the summer to me.”

Following the release of the Bat Lanyard album, Nick and Matt are excited to put out their physical vinyl copy and continue to work on their next big hit. “I’m excited about getting it out on vinyl,” Nick explained. “This is really the format that you should listen to the album in. It tells a story this way.” The duo is also looking forward to getting onstage to share their music with a possible regional tour in their future.
