“What inspires me is the rawness of emotion. Originally, my music was an outlet to express my own feelings. Over time, I realized music was a way to help others to find themselves right now.”

“For Fun” delivers on our need to maintain hope in the pandemic. At a time where a pandemic makes us all feel invisible, True Istina believes we should instead stand out. 

True Istina wrote “For Fun” out of a desire to “stand out to help others stand out”.

The song directly responds to the doubts one faces as a teenager of the 2020s. Even though growing up in the pandemic robs one of much control, teenagers rebel and find ways to command attention. 

True Istina confronts her doubts in this song, acting against them to display confidence. In bringing the song to the public, she hopes to make confidence contagious and to inspire positivity.

“During COVID, I was struggling with school and having a hard time finding the motivation to keep going. But after my mom inspired me to see the rainbow in the clouds, I wanted to help others build confidence.”

“Nu Life” was released on New Year’s 2022 to signal hope and growth for the rest of 2022. The track resists cynicism and asks fans to keep moving forward to push through darkness. 

True Istina explains, “It was written during a time where I was looking back and seeing what was already accomplished and what needed to be improved. New Year’s is a time where you see how much you’ve grown and how much better of a person you will become, and this song is about that.”

Much like her inspiration, Carrie Underwood, True Istina realizes that artists possess the power to inspire. As she looks to release more music throughout the year, True Istina looks to continue using music to communicate hope, growth, realization, and confidence.

Recently, on January 12, True Istina released “Walkin the Line”. 

Upcoming on February 14, she will release the single “Fantasy”, leading up to the release of her self-titled album, True Istina, on March 3.
