O'Shea Jackson Jr. Warns Fans About Drake's Janice Parties

Drake is hosting parties for women named Janice in the wake of his "Janice STFU" hit, and O'Shea Jackson Jr. couldn't help but joke about it.

O'Shea Jackson Jr. has never been shy about sharing his opinions on the Drake and Kendrick Lamar rivalry or the conversations that followed it. Even so, he recently admitted that Drake's "Janice STFU" has been stuck in his head. That did not stop him from joking about the OVO star's exclusive parties for women named Janice, which were organized as a playful apology to those whose name became the focus of one of the biggest songs from ICEMAN.

Jackson Jr. took to Twitter to react to the events happening in New York, Toronto, Los Angeles, and several other cities. "To any chick named Janice who’s on the run for anything….this is a trap," he wrote. "They did the same thing to Washington Redskins fans in 1985 lmfaooo look it up."

Naturally, some Drake supporters took issue with the joke and pushed back in the replies. Jackson Jr. fired back at one especially upset user by writing, "Get that owl D**k out your throat this wasn’t even a diss."

For anyone unfamiliar with the reference, O'Shea Jackson Jr. was referring to Operation Flagship. In December 1985, authorities in Washington, D.C., along with the United States Marshals Service, invited wanted fugitives to claim free Washington Redskins, now known as the Commanders, football tickets. The operation resulted in the arrests of 101 fugitives.

The comparison was clearly meant as a joke and not a serious suggestion that anything similar would happen at Drake's Janice parties. Still, given Jackson Jr.'s well known support for Kendrick Lamar, it is easy to understand why some fans took offense to the comment.

Drake's "Janice" Party

Drake has already met up with some women named Janice in Texas. According to Kurrco on Twitter, the rapper shared an Instagram Story featuring three women alongside the caption, "Kicking it off with these 3 Janice's from TX." As expected, there were no reports of police showing up or anyone being arrested, making it clear that Jackson Jr.'s earlier post was simply made in jest.

Meanwhile, "Janice STFU" continues to gain momentum as one of the standout tracks from ICEMAN, joining songs like "Shabang" as a strong contender for song of the summer. Fans will be watching to see what other moments come from these unique Janice themed events, although it is safe to say any concerns about a real life trap can be taken as nothing more than a joke.
