An emerging artist from Australia, SAMM! pronounced Sammi, is excited to share her sound with new listeners around the world. Her debut single, “In My Feelings,” is a sexy, vulnerable song designed to gently introduce listeners to SAMM!’s world.

“A saddie but a baddie,” SAMM! cares too much but she’s just not going to let you know that right away. “In My Feelings” is a lighthearted single and subtle glimpse at SAMM!’s potential for emotional rawness saved for later releases.

Growing up, SAMM! was one of three siblings and the only girl. Her mother enrolled the family in various activities to focus on the wealth of opportunity around them. “My mom wanted us to focus less on what we didn’t have and more on keeping busy,” adds SAMM! of her active upbringing. “We were involved in the community after school. I was singing, dancing, acting, doing shows and competitions. Being the only girl in a family full of males resulted in my mom wanting me to come out of my shell a bit. She made sure I stood out of my comfort zone.”

Despite pursuing many creative outlets, it was music that most spoke to SAMM!. “I wanted to excel in everything I signed up for. It made me push myself into being comfortable and expressing art through many forms. But singing is what I connected with the most,” explains SAMM!. “It wasn’t just about putting on a face on the exterior—I felt it from inside.”

When she began singing, SAMM! leaned toward ballads. “Being an emotional person and an empath in general, I truly felt the lyrics,” shares the singer. “Music is what made me feel from inside and share on the outside as well.” For SAMM!, it was never about becoming a singer, she already knew she was one from early on. Instead, she focuses on tuning her skills to be the best she can be. “You don’t have to be perfect in everything you do, how you look, what you sound like. There is no perfect Artist person anymore. You can just be you.”

As SAMM! illustrates, not everyone loves a rose, but you don’t have to be the favorite flower for everyone. “I’m not fussed on being for everyone,” explains SAMM!. “I accept myself and who I am.”

SAMM!’s debut single, “In My Feelings,” is a soft launch into her overall vibe. In her musical vault, listeners will find deeper, more self-reflective tunes. “In My Feelings” is not that. Instead, the single is lighthearted, fun, and sexy.

Written and recorded in Los Angeles, “In My Feelings” came together immediately upon hearing the initial beat. “This song is a side of me—the first petal of a rose that hasn’t bloomed yet,” tells SAMM!. “It’s not as serious as I usually am. It’s about being conflicted with your feelings, finding clarity, then developing tension with the other person. It’s a cat and mouse game. ‘I want you but I’m not going to say it.’”

The levity of the single allows SAMM! to have a healthy detachment from her work. “It’s a deviation from my norm,” she adds. “It’s a good time type of song.” With a music video filmed in Colombia, there’s no mistaking that “In My Feelings” is full of the idea of pleasure and sensation.
