Radiohead have had to delay their next two concerts as frontman Thom Yorke deals with an "extreme throat infection".
The Creep band announced on social media on Monday that they could not perform the first two shows of their four-night residency at the Royal Arena in Copenhagen, Denmark on Monday and Tuesday.
The postponed concerts have been moved to 15 and 16 December, while the group still plans to go ahead with the remaining two shows on 4 and 5 December.
"We are devastated to have to postpone these two shows at such short notice but Thom has been diagnosed with an extreme throat infection which has made it impossible for him to sing," the statement said.
"Treatment is underway and we're hopeful Thom will recover in time to play the final two Copenhagen shows on Dec 4th and 5th, and all four Berlin shows, starting on Dec 8th."
They ended their message by saying, "We have been so blown away by the audience reactions on these dates and are loving being back on stage again; needless to say, we feel terrible that we have been forced to postpone these shows."
Radiohead made their return to live performance for the first time in seven years in early November with a run of concerts in Madrid, Spain, followed by four nights in Bologna, Italy, and a four-show residency at London’s O2 Arena last week.
After wrapping up their Copenhagen dates, Yorke and his bandmates Jonny and Colin Greenwood, Ed O’Brien, and Philip Selway will finish their comeback tour with four nights in Berlin, Germany next week.
When they first announced the tour in September, drummer Selway explained that the group had reunited last year to rehearse “just for the hell of it” and ended up deciding they wanted to play shows again.
"After a seven year pause, it felt really good to play the songs again and reconnect with a musical identity that has become lodged deep inside all five of us," he wrote, before hinting at the possibility of more dates: "For now, it will just be these ones but who knows where this will all lead."
