Iconic British group James has officially begun teasing the arrival of their first authorised documentary, titled Getting Away With It. The film is scheduled to debut in 2026, with full information expected early next year, building excitement among their loyal global audience.
Today’s announcement, made on November 27, comes during a particularly active period for the band, who have just released Nothing But Love – The Definitive Best Of. Available now through UMR, this expansive collection traces James’ entire history, highlighting their evolution from early singles and beloved favourites to handpicked selections chosen by the band. The release also includes two new songs, “Wake Up Superman” and “Hallelujah Anyhow,” both produced by Leo Abrahams, who previously collaborated with them on their 2024 United Kingdom Number 1 album Yummy.
Nothing But Love is offered in multiple editions, including a three CD deluxe set that provides a chronological look at the band’s journey and features exclusive commentary from the members. This edition also marks the first time in thirty five years that the original “Sit Down (Rough Trade Version)” has been available on digital streaming platforms and for purchase. For vinyl collectors, a five LP set is available, which includes selections from Yummy and features fourteen songs and versions that have never before been issued on vinyl.
Looking ahead, James is also preparing for the largest arena tour of their career in 2026, titled the LOVE IS THE ANSWER TOUR. The series of April dates will welcome very special guests Doves and will conclude with a major homecoming concert at the twenty thousand capacity Co op Live in Manchester. With the documentary, the new greatest hits collection and an extensive tour on the horizon, 2026 is shaping up to be a milestone year for the long running group.
