Queen Diamond motivates and educates with new single “Money Wave”

Queen Diamond’s approach to music is rooted in motivation and intention.

Her new single “Money Wave” is one meant to motivate people and written from her perspective as not only an entrepreneur but also someone with a prominent position in the corporate world. Through her energetic delivery and the song’s even more energetic production she hopes to motivate people to fulfill their dreams.

“When people hear it, I want them to think it’s going down for them. It’s a song for people to be motivated and believe in whatever they’re after.” she said.

Queen Diamond wrote the song to be motivational but she also wanted to educate people by weaving in references to financial literacy within the verse. The track opens with these lines:

Portfolio fat like them 808 drums
LLCs that’s how freedom comes

Right out the gate, Queen Diamond showcases creative wordplay that combines the two worlds she’s in. Soon after, she continues this technique with these lines:

Flip an investment, numbers do cardio
Turn a singl? into double like a magic cameo

This creativity gives the song a unique feeling as its hype level and intentionality work together in tandem.

The production of “Money Wave” is a key aspect to its hype factor. Queen Diamond stayed up all night trying to pick a beat for the song and upon finding this one, everything fell into place. The hook came to her almost immediately and with a co-sign from her daughter, she decided it was the one to use.

Balancing the corporate world with the music world is easy for Queen Diamond because she approaches both with intentionality. By setting aside time and days for her music, she never feels overwhelmed or thinks she’s abandoning one for the other. Also, by setting aside days for self care too, she’s able to stay relaxed and motivated simultaneously.

“When you relax, creativity comes through.” she said.

Queen Diamond is right in the middle of the world often connected to the “grind don’t stop” mindset but she does not share this perspective. She believes true success comes from knowing when to take a break from it all.

“Sometimes nothing else matters but me. Sometimes you have to be selfish for yourself. You’re no good if you’re burned out.” she said.

For Queen Diamond, music is therapeutic. By putting her thoughts and experiences into words, she’s able to clear her mind and get a release. Then, by putting these thoughts into songs, she hopes her music can be a therapeutic outlet for someone else.

“I want the world to hear my music and relate to people through it. Even if I never meet the person I’ve impacted, I’m thankful that my words have that much power. It starts with me and goes to others.” she said.

While Queen Diamond’s goal is to connect with people through her music, she didn’t realize how much power it truly had until people told her how it resonated with them. She got the validation that her words had been impactful and that the message she sought to put out was being received. This continued to show her that her music was connecting with the people it was truly meant for.

“Your voice isn’t for everybody but it’s for somebody." she said.

Writing inner thoughts down is a key factor in Queen Diamond's musical lane but it goes beyond that. The same message is the foundation of her book HeRStrength: A Journey of Healing and Forgiveness which was released under her legal name, Catrese Fields Alston. Within it, she shares her story and encourages others to express theirs through writing too.

She also plans to conduct music workshops that push this message as well as give information about the music industry, publishing, copyrights and more for the next generation. She wants to equip them with the tools she has and continue to instill traits of entrepreneurship, ownership and more through a musical lens. With her being an accomplished entrepreneur, author and public speaker, her range of knowledge and the ability to share it effectively is strong.

Queen Diamond’s confidence in her self worth is the throughline for everything she does. One of her nicknames that she still uses throughout her business ventures is “Boss Cat” and during her time in the entertainment industry, many people called her “Queen.” She’s also a fan of diamonds and bling but the diamond connection goes beyond a materialistic value.

“Diamonds are cut to shine and go through the fire. I feel like my life has been the same way. Now, I walk in elegance, royalty and excellence.” she said.

Performing on stage is another moment that showcases the confidence and excellence she’s developed over the years. Growing up, when singing with others on stage, she was shy and didn’t want to be in the spotlight. But, by finding her voice in her current musical era, she is now able to capture the stage and connect with the audience in a completely new way.

“At first, I didn’t realize how much power I could have on stage. But the more I did it, the more I loved it. I loved seeing people of all races, ages and genders enjoying the music I made and the words I had written. It was a freeing experience. I felt free when I was up there. And, when I saw the footage of myself, I looked free too.” she said.

Having done so much already, Queen Diamond’s listeners should be assured more music is coming too. The next single, titled “Never Enough,” is going to showcase her navigating heartbreak and disappointment and making it through it all.

Queen Diamond is a multi-hyphenate that approaches everything she does with intention and excellence. By continuing to present the best form of herself to others in everything that she does, the message resonates every time.

“Money Wave” is available on streaming services now.
