As a recording artist and live performer, ALYA believes she is doing something with her craft that has been forgotten by many singers and songwriters in order to impress the public.
ALYA received classical music training and instruction as an opera singer – and as a result, she goes to one of her basic tenets of music artistry: to make a real connection with her followers.
“When it comes to my songs, I really don't want to impress people,” she said. “I've noticed that there are many artists out there that are more focused on entertaining from the stage in various other ways, instead of ‘inviting’ listeners to the stage through their music so they feel connected and inspired, and even included. This is my personal way of creating music.”
Being a resident of Los Angeles, ALYA has been focusing most recently on the horrific wildfires that have been devastating the region since early January. As of the publishing of this story, she and her family were safe and had been evacuated from their home. The expanded area around their house was shut down – and she didn’t know when they would be able to return.
ALYA looks to expand her connection with those around the world experiencing hardship and uncertainty through her most recent single, titled “Hope.”
Born and raised in the former Soviet Union, ALYA first wrote the song right after the war in Ukraine broke out in 2022. She said the conflict struck “very personal territory” for her – because she has roots on both sides.
“At first, I wrote this song trying to help all of those hurting hearts out there - and frankly, to provide some comfort to myself as well,” she said. “When we recently released it, we realized that ‘Hope’ is a very special record - and we started looking for ways to elevate it and bring more impact with it, so it wouldn't become just another song.”

And elevate it they did.
ALYA and her team decided to make donations from the success of the single to UNICEF to support children around the world and more specifically, to help children that are being impacted by the war.
In addition, ALYA went to her active social media accounts and told her followers about the release of her new inspirational single. She asked her fans to consider doing something good - not necessarily anything big, just something that would make a difference in someone’s life.
“It grew into a huge viral thing on Tik Tok - and it just kept growing and growing,” she said. “People were recording little videos of themselves doing little things, like making dinner for their loved ones when they come home late from work, or giving hugs, or just showing the happy faces of children, or talking about their friendship with someone special, or giving flowers and saying how grateful they are just to be alive. It was so beautiful.”
ALYA is getting ready to release a re-mix of the song to make it even bigger. She said they’ll add a choir and a gospel singer to it, along with some other secrets as well.
“At times when we face these devasting events like the wildfires in Southern California and other things happening out there, I feel like what the song ‘Hope’ has been able to do is so vital,” said ALYA. “I think it’s so important to take in these simple lyrics that I put together with my partner Tim Carmon and these simple melodies that are very calming - but at the same time they seem to inspire a call for positive action,, Instead of trying to find out who is guilty of this or that, how about if we just try to make a difference in our own lives and in the lives of other people.”
ALYA said she’s excited to be releasing her first album during the first half of this year. She will write all the songs, with some co-written with her partner and likely some unexpected collaborations as well. She also plans to do a lot of live performances in what promises to be a very busy year.
Even though 2025 did not start out as optimistically as she might have expected.
“Sometimes I like to remind myself when it feels very dark that it might not be the case that it's actually dark at all,” she said. “It might be that you're actually right in front of a bright light and a new door with new beginnings are about ready to open for you. So I just encourage you to keep going and listen to inspirational music and keep hope in your heart.”
