A US Army Veteran and Wisconsin based Rapper, Fortitude has been making music since he was only 19 years old. Focusing on his own experiences in the military, his philosophical studies and the world happening around him, Fortitude creates a deeper look into his own mind through his music.

Fortitude’s most recent project is his new album Manhattan, a versatile collection of his inner thoughts and feelings as he makes his way through the world. “There is really something in this album for everyone,” he explained. “Each song really tells its own story.”

While each piece of this album is strong as a stand alone project, Fortitude explains that Manhattan is the kind of album you’ll want to listen to all the way through. “It’s about life and the experiences that I and everyone in the world has,” he said. “It’s my own introspective thoughts on it all.”

The highlight of this project is the self titled track “Fortitude”. This inspirational song is all about the valor of the life of a soldier. From the pain and bravery of a soldier willing to die for their country all the way to the experience of a veteran returning home.

“There are really four parts to this song,” Fortitude explained. “The first details the acts of valor from a soldier under fire in history, then it switches over to talking about the modern American soldier.” The second half of the song dives into the struggle of a soldier in the trenches, coming to terms with the possible end of his life and finally ends with the struggle of returning home to the stressors of assimilating back into civilian life.

“Fortitude” takes you through the history and experience of someone on the battlefield, something this artist is not unfamiliar with. This song is bold and inspirational, a true song for the American Hero and the struggles they have endured.

Following the release of “Fortitude” and the rest of the Manhattan album, Fortitude is looking forward to seeing where this journey will take him. “I am really excited to see how people respond to my music,” he said. “And I’m looking forward to seeing where the Rap scene will go and what I will take from it in the next year.”
