Singer and songwriter Mack Holland uplifts and inspires with his latest song, “Lord I Thank You.”

From Christmas songs to gospel, Mack Holland has a music catalogue sure to please most listeners. “Lord I Thank You” features robust vocals and upbeat instrumentals, taking listeners on an inspiring journey through gratitude.

“Lord I Thank You” is Mack’s third gospel song. “I woke up with the lyrics to ‘Are You Ready for Your Blessing.’ Then about 10 months ago, I put out ‘He Is.’ I just had the desire to write another gospel song. I’m a very spiritual person,” tells the artist.

For Mack Holland, writing music is a process that begins with lyrics. “Lord I Thank You” is the result of “sitting and talking to the lord and thanking him for all he’s done.” After the words came to Mack Holland, he partnered with his producer, Grammy-winning Kevin Bond, to record the single. For the vocals, he enlisted Bernard Williams for the lead, with Mack on backup vocals. “I didn’t want to sing the lead because I had just sung the lead on my last single. So, I basically emphasized the lead vocals and said the prayer at the beginning and end.”

The singer wants listeners to remember to give thanks to the lord for all he does daily. “Keep him in mind every day in all the directions you take daily,” tells Mack. “I like to promote positivity in life. I want people to be positive every day.”

Born in the Carolinas, Mack Holland had an early start in music. “I started singing as a youngster in the church, of course, and a musical group in the neighborhood,” shares Mack Holland. Around the age of 17, the young musician began writing poetry. “That was my passion. I even had a few inducted into the Library of Congress.”

Mack Holland’s talent for poetry was a natural transition to songwriting. “I wrote ‘Your Love is a Thill’ as a poem. I sent it to a record company in L.A. They encouraged me to put music to it.” Next thing he knew, Mack joined a label in Nashville to record his music. The poem-turned-song is still a hit to this day.

Mack Holland isn’t setting out for fame and fortune. “Recording my songs and poetry was a hobby of mine, and I still see it as a hobby. I’m enjoying it, and God is sending me in different directions. If it takes me other places—it’ll be great,” shares the artist, whose greatest motivator is doing what he loves.

Following “Lord I Thank You,” Mack Holland looks forward to sharing new music with listeners. “My next single will be ‘My Favorite Girl.’ It’s already finished in the studio. After that, I’ll be working on another gospel project.” In the meantime, Mack wants listeners to know how much he appreciates their support.

“I want to inspire people in life. That’s why I enjoy writing songs—there’s no stress behind it. I think about being positive, the lord, and being positive in the circle of our people. I’m a positive recording artist.”
