Fareed El Boricua Arabe has long been an active member of the music world, with a career that propelled him through the eighties. Though he retired in the nineties, this artist is back again with a new sound and an incredibly exciting passion to create.
With the creation of his new record label, Sosua Sound Recordings, Fareed has been able to create music that truly fits his vision, all while helping others to do the same. This project gives him both the creative freedom and the platform to share his voice with the world.
Blending genres like Reggaeton, Afro Beat, Hip Hop and more together, Fareed designs music with something for everyone. His newest single, “Una Noche Con Un Arabe” is a great example of this sound and his own collection of cultural influences.
Written in Spanish, this new single translates to “A Night With An Arab”. The project, in honor of Fareed’s Moroccan father and heritage, brings light to a culture that has been previously looked upon with a narrow gaze. “Every culture views love differently and I was inspired by what I saw of it in a Moroccan club,” he said. “Arab culture is viewed in such a serious manner and I wanted to alter that. I think this sexy latin song really helps to capture that.”
Inspired mainly by a visit to a club while in his father’s home country, Fareed took what he saw and upon returning to his own home in the Dominican Republic, ran with it. This adventure truly provided us with something we greatly needed.
“I love mixing genres together,” he explained. “I feel like I’m really evolving into a multi genre artist.” With songs like “Una Noche Con Un Arabe”, Fareed creates unique and uninhibited styles that are truly one of a kind.
Following the release of “Una Noche Con Un Arabe”, Fareed is excited to share the single’s upcoming music video. Along with this he is looking forward to a media tour and collection of performances on live television across the Dominican Republic. “I’m really excited for this tour!” he said. “I can’t wait to perform and discuss the work I’ve been doing lately.”
Fareed is excited to continue performing as he continues on this journey. “I want to thank my fans for helping me to get here,” he said. “I’m so grateful for all that has come of this new project and I am excited to use my success to help others in my shoes get where they want to be.”
