With the mission of empowering and uplifting people everywhere, new artist Aubrionna released her new single declaring that everyone can be a “Don Da Da,” a powerful, confident person with a strong voice and presence.
Featuring a catchy melody, strong beat, upbeat rhythm and a message of confidence and grace, “Don Da Da” brings original and positive music to a world that is flooded with negativity and darkness, especially toward women.
“You can be a leader, you can be powerful,” Aubrionna said. “The message that being a female, especially in this generation, and being powerful and being strong as leaders is not being put out there as much as it should. I want this song to say you can be powerful and you can be a powerful woman and do your own thing. Be your own leader.”
Aubrionna was born with a passion for music inspired by musical legends like Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Brandy Beyoncé and Michael Jackson, but her biggest and closest inspiration is her own mother, who raised Aubrionna as a single mother in an environment that let her know she could do anything.
“I had a conversation with my mother about how she was confident in her own way and how she was a single mom as well,” Aubrionna said. ‘We talked about how, back then, it was just me and her, how she didn’t let a man have control over her life. Lots of people are Don Da Das, I looked it up and it basically meant to be a leader, be confident and rule over everything, be powerful. That describes my mom.”
Aubrionna said the song “Don Da Da” is not just a song.
“It’s an empowering journey that transcends barriers and encourages every listener to embrace their own identity,” according to the description of the song on the music video to “Don Da Da” on YouTube. “With heartfelt lyrics and an infectious melody, Aubrionna's captivating voice weaves a story of liberation and self-expression, resonating deeply with anyone who has ever felt the need to break away from societal norms.”
Aubrionna said she started singing when she was six years old in church.
“At first I was a little nervous,” she said. “I was shy, very shy, until I started singing more. As I got older, I started writing music because I was I didn't know how to express my feelings and I didn't know how to say what I want to say without feeling like I was being judged. When I started writing music, it really helped me a lot. Instead of just saying things I'd put it in song.”
Aubrionna said she plans to release an album in September featuring “Don Da Da” and other songs of inspiration and empowerment.
“Everything on the album is diverse and different,” she said. “No two songs sound the same. I have a song about being a picky Virgo, which is my Zodiac sign, then the next single is about being in love. There are different things on this album.”
