CHARLOTTE, NC— After success on America’s Got Talent, as a cover artist on social media, and an invitation to perform alongside the Salisbury Symphony, singer Olivia Toliver–known as livinthemomnt–has gone in her own direction with a solo career, releasing her debut album, Ready to Liv, that reflects both her name and her ambitions.

Talent shows and music class kept Toliver in school growing up. Being able to show her talent and how it has grown is what is represented on Ready to Liv, loosely based on her life experiences.

“It's about a girl, which is primarily based off of me and my life experiences and the people around me. I've taken bits and pieces from that and it tells a story about a girl in a trying relationship that's coexisting with her job and the underlying desire to go out and chase and pursue her dreams," says * "Overall, it's telling a story and there's three skits in it. And the skits also tend to kind of help paint the picture and add texture and help tell the whole story. And then there’s the character and the funny aspects to it. So it's overall based off of me in my life.”

The seven tracks of Ready to Liv weave between those skits as a concept record, from the intro track of the album includes a monologue of her fictional manager looking for Liv at work, to ending with the realization of focusing on pursuing her dreams.

Songs like “Atonement” and the album’s lead self-titled single “Ready to Liv” have an alternative soul sound fused with blues and pop, more specifically an early 2000s rhythm and cadence, having a feel and theme that would draw an intimacy to her live shows from the record. Toliver envisions a live band on stage with her as she performs the tracks for the first time and looks to tour the album nationally.

“When people listen to Ready to Liv, I really want them to feel empowered when they hear it. And not just the song, but the whole project. I want it to provide a sense of acceptance and to understand that regardless of circumstances, you can always overcome whatever it is that you're going through. I urge every listener to break free from the mundane ways of life people can get stuck in and not really enjoying their life and to move towards going out and living your dreams.”

Toliver is currently in the studio and plans to write a three-part series for the album, with part two in the works for an end of the year release
