For more than 20 years, Frydae Killasmoke and Lady-A Da Lyricstarr have taken hold of the Houston, Texas music scene. Otherwise known as UNDISPUTED, the duo releases music under their own record label, Champ Records Music Production. Their recent single,

Straight off their album, Gain on My Level, “Dope” meshes crunk with hood to create a sound unique to UNDISPUTED. “Our music is energetic and real. We never speak of anything we haven’t witnessed or seen,” shares the duo. The single was released during the pandemic and is finally getting the recognition it deserves.

“’Dope’ is more than a song—it’s an affirmation,” explains UNDISPUTED. “‘Dope’ reminds us that we’re still going to make it anyway. No matter what trials and tribulations and struggles. Even when people say you can’t make it. As long as you’re grinding and putting energy behind it, you can do it.”

“We want to build people’s confidence. That’s why everything we do is ‘dope.’ Anybody that’s out here doing anything creative—whether you’re a business owner or baking cakes or just working hard—make sure you’re doing it to the best of your ability. ‘Dope’ means everything is great; it means being successful.”

The music of UNDISPUTED comes from a collaborative effort between Lady A and Frydae Killasmoke. Together, they write to the beats produced by Frydae Killasmoke. Lady A also writes the verses on her solo projects. Once a song is ready for the studio, they record and let the song come together.

The “Lady” in Lady A comes from power and respect, especially in an industry where most female rappers refer to themselves as the “b word.” Lady A seeks to shine the light on women like her who don’t want to be seen that way. “This is definitely a challenge,” shares Lady A. “But I represent ladies who feel the word is beneath them. We are queens, ladies, bosses, CEOs, moms. We prefer to relate to ourselves in better ways. I want to inspire young girls to stand strong and respect themselves more and require that same respect from others.”

While maintaining a high level of grace, Lady A writes lyrics that are high energy, direct, fun, and powerful. Combined with the stylings of Frydae Killasmoke, the duo creates impactful, memorable music. “Dope” isn’t just for hip hop and rap aficionados—it’s for lovers of music. “I’ve met a lot of people that don’t like rap as much but have related to our songs,” shares Lady A, speaking of the versatility of their music. “I’ve spread it numerous places with people from different backgrounds who listen to different music,” adds Frydae Killasmoke.

The single was chosen to represent their 22-track album because of its strong message and entertaining qualities. “‘Dope’ is about encouraging people to step up their game. That’s why it makes sense as the single to our upcoming record. It’s also an inspiration for us. We’ve been working in music for a long time. This song gives us the confidence to push through even when ran into setbacks. It pushes us to keep striving no matter what a hater try to do or say.”

Another key message that UNDISPUTED delivers is that you don't have to fake your lifestyle, as mentioned in the hook of "Dope." Just be real about what you do and accomplish in life, and don't pretend to be nothing that you're not.

“UNDISPUTED music has a crunk sound that touches on street, real-life issues, and party music, creating a mixture of multiple topics that most people can relate to," shares Lady A. “We love to party and turn up to have fun in our spare time. In our everyday life we’re just chill family oriented people,” adds Frydae Killasmoke. “We just love to make music for people to jam to."

In addition to spreading their single "Dope" across the world, UNDISPUTED is working on new projects this year and moving forward. Lady A recently released a video for “Still Me,” and Frydae Killasmoke has a video release for Shine on a Beat schedule for May 26th, which can be found on YouTube on their UNDISPUTEDVEVO channel; both are solo project releases off their album Gain on My Level.
