LONG BEACH, CA – Schyler O’Neal is an artist and producer who melds a variety of sounds from R&B to Pop and hip-hop to create a style that is uniquely his own. His music flows beautifully and gives his audience an honest representation of who they are listening to. Most recently, O’Neal has released a new single titled “IOU” that is all about his personal journey to find the good in his life. 

O’Neal has long been a part of the music scene as a producer, but it was not until recently that he began to release music of his own. It was not a question of whether or not he would be making music, but rather what he would do with it. “I think when I kind of came to the decision of like, is this something that I would do whether it was professionally or as a hobby, like, Would I do it just for the love of it?”  The answer to that question was a definite yes. It was obvious to O’Neal that this was his passion and from there his music took off. 

“IOU” is one of a collection of songs written at an emotionally tense time for O’Neal. “It was originally a song I wrote, or rather a voice memo I made, to express the things that I was dealing with. I didn't know any other way to do it, so it came out in the form of a song.” This track along with the others in this project show the raw vulnerability that O’Neal is able to bring to the table through therapeutic writing practices.

“This collection of songs is the result of being in a long-term relationship with a significant other that ended after a six year period and just not really knowing how to deal with it at the time,” O’Neal explained. “Later when I had the chance to reflect, I realized that even though I didn’t want the situation to end, there were a lot of good things to come out of it ending.” “IOU” is the story of the good things that can come from those situations. The track itself is an inspirational reminder that there is a little bit of good in every situation. 

Following “IOU” is the release of the second track in O’Neal’s current project. This song, titled “Wasted Love” looks more at his point of view before the revelation that comes with “IOU”. It reaches emotional heights for O’Neal and truly shows what his experience is like. “Wasted Love” released on Dec. 10 of 2021.

O’Neal’s plans for the rest of this project includes the release of another single and the final release of the entire project in early 2022. Several visuals will also be released with the tracks.
